THE BUILD

The Acura chapter.

I bought Bruce Wayne shortly after my mother passed away. Coming from the world of Honda Civics, stepping up to an NSX felt like buying my first Lamborghini. Being able to own something so iconic and exotic felt surreal, especially after starting with nothing.

People kept telling me the car looked like a Batmobile. I wanted a nod to Batman without actually calling it Batman, so I went with his alter ego: Bruce Wayne.

The car kept its original engine and transmission until around 2022, when I decided I wanted more power and removed the original drivetrain. We are now building a K24A4 to pair with the Precision 6870 turbo we already have. The likely direction is to retain the stock sleeves with an upgraded piston-and-connecting-rod combination and stage 3 camshafts, but the final internal specifications are still being decided.

The engine is almost ready for installation. We plan to start with an RSX five-speed transmission; adapting a Volkswagen DSG transmission to the K24 is a longer-term goal. The engine, transmission and turbo setup are still work in progress.

Bruce Wayne already has custom-valved JIC coilovers with custom spring rates and a big-brake kit I put together myself. The rare custom fender flares allow wide, concave front-wheel fitment. We bought the car in its BMW metallic grey finish, and it wears an NSX-R carbon rear spoiler with a Tommy Kaira gurney flap.
